Some service Men were sent out on a mission to capture a rabbit inside the bush.The first service men to go there were the S.S.S,they deal with secret services and security of that nation.They went into the bush,which was the presumed location of the rabbit,they sent out informants and looked everywhere for this rabbit,after three months of active seaching without a positive result,they came back and said there is no rabbit,it probably does not exsist at all.Do you blame them?They did all they could and used all technics they knew best,without a result!
Secondly,the Army were sent there and after 3 weeks of active search both on the land and right under the land surface,together with the aid of the airforce working from their aircrafts,they couldn't find anything called rabbit so,they burnt down the whole bush,and concluded that the rabbit is dead.Are they to be blamed?From the information given to them,that location was the hidding place of the rabbit and for them not to have captured him meant he probably was hidding somewhere there which they could not find and therefore forcing them to burn down the whole territory.
Finally,the police went there, but everybody were surprised seening them coming out of the bush under two hours.People started clapping as they came out declaring that they have captured the rabbit.After the celebration,the people asked them where the rabbit was,and the head of this mission ordered his boys to bring out the said 'captured rabbit'.To the greatest disappointment of everyone present there,they saw a goat sweating and covered in blood coming out instead of a rabbit,walking and taking his steps one by one due to the beating rained on him by the police,he started singing 'I am a rabbit,i am a rabbit,i am a rabbit'.Everybody left the place unhappy and disappointed,but the police were glad about their shameful failure,atleast he confessed that he is a rabbit,they said!
Funny enough,this seems like a joke, but it's actually a challenge to all of us.This is not the time to leave the work for a particular set of people or force,it is the duty of all of us to build the nation,we must come together as one and fight to bring back the nation to what it used to be.I remember a question that some people used to ask when you tell them that you're from Nigeria;'Are you really from africa or Nigeria?To them, Nigeria was located in the wrong continent.Well,this is not so,but the class that African continent has been placed is not encouraging and some people do not want us to come out of that class,it's very bad and unfortunate.
Bitterness,revenge,discrimination,more sacrifice and hatred cannot help at all.Let us forget about whatever groups,panels or unions that have been set up to dig into the past,it probably cannot work.From what i am seeing, it would cause more havoc than helping the situation.Know that the price had been paid already and going back to forgotten issues could be very wasteful.
However,i'll like to add this, that there is none of these past Presidents that does not have things,infact terrible things more than that which we claimed that IBB did that were wrong,they hid them from you and i. So,going back to be checking that could be a waste of time and change our focus.Most of them moved money out of the Country,killed,sucked the nation as well.Some of them paid as much as $20,000 or more to anybody how was ready to move money out for them in his or her name (we all read from the journals) while the masses are suffering.I am not supporting these acts,but what i am saying is that we should think of developing,give these people another chance to correct their errors and cover the loopholes they created themselves!They created the loopholes,and they know how they did it so,they should come back to ammend these things.
There were three people who were given the task to clean up a dirty community sometimes ago,the first person used almost half of the time given to him to know the areas that needed cleaning and before he could start the exact cleaning the time was over.The second person went straight into cleaning and left out so many places undone.The whole place was in a mess afterwards, as time was not on his side to pack together and dispose the little he was able to clean.So,they suggested that the task be abandoned, but the third man was not happy about it. When the other two people went to sleep,he woke up,went to the place and cleaned up everything,packed them together and deposed all afterwards,it took him very little time to finish.These other two people woke up to find out that the job had been done,so they asked him how he did it.
HE SAID:
'Remember that i did the whole rubbish and i dirtied the place so,it was not difficult for me cleaning it up, since i know where exactly is dirty,how and what i used to dirty the place',he said.They all accepted and congratulated him for a job well done.
So,it is the person that you think he's responsible for the failure and the hardship of a nation that is most needed at this time.If there is no sanction,i think Nigeria will be able to perform on her own without any international aids, loans,or directives and ofcourse develop to her greatest hight.
Mr I.B Babangida is a man like you and i,this was manifested at the burial of his wife late Mrs. Maryam Babangida,when he actually wept in the public.Give him another chance,he can do it, or wait for a revolution of the like in Ghana!God help Nigeria,Amen.
